Gail Moriss, age 80, of Bright Star, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, February 16, 2020 in a Texarkana, Texas hospital. She was born October 5, 1939 in Jamaica, New York to John and Betty Mace.
Gail was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church until it closed and then joined St. James Episcopal and was confirmed by the Bishop of Dallas in December. She adored her family and loved to read and travel. She enjoyed geneology and her plants. Gail was a member of the United Daughters of Confederates, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and was past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star in Fouke, Arkansas. She was a Navy wife and she was proud of it.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Mace.
Gail is survived by her husband of nearly 61 years, Thornton “Moe” Morris; two sons, Daniel Morris and partner Tom of Putney, Vermont, Patrick Morris and wife Ann of Sarasota, Florida; one daughter, Debbie Chandler and husband Ray of Bright Star, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Nikki Chandler, Erica Clark, Marissa Morris, Seth Morris, Luke Morris; one great grandchild, Liam Ballou; special sister in law, Charla Thomas; special nieces and nephews, Patti, Chuck, Victor, Bruce, Janie, Vikki; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Private services will be held at Olive Branch cemetery.
