James V. Williams, age 87, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 31, 2021 in an adult care facility in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.
He was born on January 21, 1934 in Cass County, Texas to Clyde and Jewel Patterson Williams. James was a devoted member of Smyrna Baptist Church, loved to work and was retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Co.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wayne Williams; and one sister, Janell Green.
James is survived by his wife of 49 years, Thelma Williams of Atlanta, Texas; one son, David Williams of Queen City, Texas; one daughter, Bridget Bish and husband Scott of Denver, Colorado; two step daughters, Carol Solley and husband Danny, Cecilia Delacot and husband Peter of Abilene, Texas; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a number of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Smyrna Baptist Church, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service, with Rev. Gene Parker officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, April 2, 2021 at Hanner Funeral Service.
Interment will be in Union Hill Cemetery in Cass County, Texas.
